Blue! BLue!! and more BLUE!!!

Every where I look,,, there’s BLUE!!!

I love cobalt blue!  It just seems like a happy color!  It’s warm!  It’s rich!  It’s dreamy!  What if the sky was cobalt blue???  HUMMMMM!  WELL!  Enough dreaming!  I’ve got to show you some new goodies that are going to Sorticulture with me.

I mentioned before that people have been asking me for bottle trees.  WELL!  I’ve made a few and need to make more,,, but,,, I got bored making them.  So, I had to make some thing else with these great blue bottles.

Here’s a couple pictures.  Let me know what you think!

What was that old beer drinking song?
Some thing about 99 bottles of beer on the wall???

The sun was barely shining this day!  Sorry!

Do you like the insulator on top?
It's okay!  Tell the truth!

These are made from old fence boards
and bottles I found in the alley.

I love old, odd stuff in my flower beds.

This trellis is nearly 20 years old. It was a cupboard door from a house built in the 1920's.  I like the blue behind it.

What should I call these puppies?  Shadow boxes?  Nah!  Blue lattice?  Hum!  Closer!  Got any ideas?  The hardest part of making art is actually naming your art.  I honestly hate that part of it!

Which frame do you like the best?  The one with or without the glass insulator on the top?

If you like these, wait until I show you what I'm making next with these great bottles!  I hope to post them in a couple days.  It has been raining here so much it's tough to get outside to work or take pictures.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good one! Shell

    1. Hi Terri! Thanks! I love this color too. Bud did come out with a new beer and I hear it's a higher alcohol content. Talk your hubby into making some thing to go with the beer bottles you were kind enough to bring home for him! :) Thanks again! Shelley

  2. Hi, love your blue bottle lattice! You could call it "Bleu Azul" or "Bleu Lattice"!!

How do you secure the bottles to the inside of the wooden frame? I tried using a small dead tree for a bottle tree (branches were very interesting) but a strong wind blew it over. So I am needing new
ideas. You have the best idea so far!!

I do like the insulator. It is a nice touch. I also like using old things in the flower bed. I have a bedsprings on the side of my house to use as a trellis for honeysuckle. Bedsprings do have different designs and I got two different ones.

Thanks so much for helping me out!!! Love your stuff. Right up my alley. Jo

    1. Hi Jo! Thanks so much. These were very fun and they took me quite a few tries to figure out how to make them just right. I plan on putting these in 2 more garden shows before I tell every one how I did them. Send me an email and we'll talk! fromthealleytothegallery@frontier.com That's funny about the bed springs. I had them in my garden too until a little while ago. I made mine into a real bed for the garden and sold that in a garden show. It was a hoot! Thanks again! Shelley

    1. Thank you so much. These were really fun to make. I think I'm going to try making a wall of these next. I'm hoping to get a shed started in a month or so and I hope to use the bottles in the walls of the shed. I think it'll be a great project. Good luck with your porch rail. I hope you do it. Let me know if you do!!! I'd love to see a picture or 2! Shelley

    1. Hi Linda. Thanks! You are right. Pinterest is wonderful for inspiration, definitely lacking in how to's. I have one more garden show to place these in called Sorticulture. It's only 3 1/2 weeks away. After that I'll have plans you can buy for this. They won't be expensive. Probably around $10. I have a lot of hours into these, trying to make them just right. The way I've built these you can easily make a whole wall of them with the plans. If you buy the plans I'll help you figure out how to make that wall. I have the schematic done, I just need to write up a detail on how to put the pieces together. There's an easy way and a harder way. It took me a few times to get that right too. Watch for some thing on my blog probably close to the end of June. OH NO!!! I've got a picture of your wall in my head and it won't go away! EEK! LOL! You can put several in a row just like I did, or ,,, you can make a regular fence that will look simiiar to mine ,,,, YUM! OK! Have a great night. Check back again! AND! Thanks!!! Shelley

    1. Hi! The plans are nearly ready. The drawings are done, but the details in writing ,,, well! I'm writing those and I'm not great at always describing things. I'm trying,,, The show these are in starts June 7th. After the show I'll finish writing the details and then the plans should be ready no later than July 1st. I'll post on this blog a couple times when they are ready. That way you won't miss it. I'll sell them through this blog and on Etsy. Thanks for asking. Please feel free to bug me if you don't see some thing in 3 weeks! Shell
