A Trip To The Beach Gets Ugly!

Hi guys!

Sorry!  I know it's been a while since I've been on here... but!  I have a lame excuse!  LOL!

On Father's Day I was finally going to get some yard work done,,, when maybe 15 minutes into it ,,, my back gave out!  I've pretty much been on the couch since.

BUT!  It's feeling better so Joy and I went to the beach for a walk.  I decided it would give her the walk she hadn't been getting and me some fresh air.  I also knew there wouldn't be too much to bend over to pick up.  Well, except a few pieces of driftwood.  YEP!  I needed just a couple pieces to hang some of those fun metal signs and fish I've been making with the plasma cutter.

SO!  Here's a bunch of pictures of one of my USED TO BE favorite beaches.  ICK!  Wait ,,, don't do it!  You have to see the first pictures before you get to the last ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK!

Yep, that's my truck and this is the pathway to ???

Nobody picks up the poop!  It's every where.
BUT!  I like the sign!

This is to the right of my truck.  In the background,
across the water is I-5 Southbound.  That's
where we're going to walk to.

Can you see the tops of the trees the arrow is
almost touching?  That's where we're going.
It's about 1.5 to 2 miles from the truck.

This is going the other direction, toward the bay.
Joy got to chase lots of bunnies.

There are lots of places for animals to hide from Joy!
Thank goodness!  She's a hunter.

The water under the bridge is from the river.
Fresh water.
Past the bridge is the bay.
Salt water.

This is the slough or river that feeds under the
bridge, then into the bay .

There's Joy leading the way to a wonderful little
cove to pick up driftwood at.

Down here we find lots of stuff the
storms bring down the river.

I've always wanted to walk to the end of this trail.
It's probably 1.5 to 2 miles long.  This is
where the arrow was pointing too!

This gave me the creeps!
What does this look like to you???

I've been walking this trail for many years.  I think I was lucky today.  Joy took off straight for what turns out to be a home for vagrants.  The homeless.  I had no idea.  I guess every one has to live some where.  BUT!  What I was positive I saw is a rifle mounted on a tripod pointing at the freeway, I-5.  I figured Joy had already ran into their camp by the time I thought I was looking at a gun and what ever was going to happen wouldn't be pretty.  HONESTLY!  This woke me up.  Joy and I go where ever and when ever we want.  I was born to a family who enjoyed outdoor living.  Hell, my father still lives off the beaten path so far there's no power, cell service or any thing.  I've never been afraid to just go tromping around any place until today.  Please realize I'm 57 years old.  I've been doing this since I can remember.  We are talking at least 50 years.

Joy and I left and called the police from a business across the hiway from this.  No, I don't carry a cell phone and NO that won't change.  We drove back to the park waited over 1 hour and 20 minutes and we gave up.  What we didn't know was that they were busy busting a string of bikini latte stands for prostitution today.  They were very busy and they know of the camp and have had lots of trouble there.  After talking to one of the policeman he informed me it's not a real good place to go and they had a policeman on his way there to look for the rifle.

I sure hope they found it IF that's what it was.

After all that ,,,

We brought home a few sticks of driftwood to hang
some metal signs from.  Signs with fish
on them for Fresh Paint.

Yes, Joy and I will go back to this beach.  We just won't go to the end of the trail.  We'll stick to the first half mile of the trail.

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!!!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you guys!!!

Tonight was the Everett Art Walk and We Do Art and the White Buffalo Saloon put on a great spread!!!  There was a beer tasting and free pizza.  YUM!!!   Thank you friends, new and old, for stopping by.  It was fun as always!

Here's what the front of the store looks like now...

Many people, during Sorticulture, said they saw this
display as they drove down Evergreen Way.

I've added more!

Stop by and see what's new!!!

I've added lots of new metal signs.  OOPS!   Both stringers of fish sold tonight!!!  Sorry!

♥ DAD ♥

Flag

Lots of fun sayings.

Ride

Some for the garden ...

I've added lots of new wind chimes.  Sorry I didn't take these pictures on my fence where they could have been seen a little better!

Trouble light cover and some keys.

VW gas cap and guitar keys.

These keys are hanging from the striker keys
from an old typewriter.   I pulled out the guts
so I could plant the typewriter with sedums.
Yes, it sold during Sorticulture!

An old faucet handle, skate key,
 telephone ringer bell.

Metal cover, knives.

We Do Art has new hours and a new store!  She's at the same location, just a smaller space.  It's now perfect!  Click here to check out the store's website for more information!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Father's Day Fish and Beer Tasting

Hi guys!

So!  I think I'm finally catching my breath from Sorticulture.

NOW!  It's time for We Do Art and beer tasting!

YES!  This Saturday is the art walk in Everett.  We Do Art has made some amazing changes and you need to check them out.  Saturday would be a great time to do that.  Alaska Brewing Company will be there to serve you some of their wonderful beer and I hear they are bringing freebies.  We all love those!!!

I'll be there around 4 pm as the featured artist of the month along with new goodies like:

FISH!!!

I love my plasma cutter!

Cut a bunch, then add them onto a stringer.
Just like when you catch them at the lake!

The "wave" of the metal goes in 2 directions.

Some are rustier than others.

Here's the beginning of my mess of trout.

Ready for the frying pan!

Miss Joy helped me today and later her right eye
swelled up on her.  I think she found a bee in
the yard.  Poor baby!

Joy turned 13 this last Monday.  My old girl is a wonderful friend!

I made some more signs that I will bring to We Do Art.  If the weather holds I hope to get some flowers welded up.  If it doesn't I'm going to put together a bunch of wind chimes.

I sure hope you can make it Saturday.  It would be nice to see you!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!  Shell

Pictures of Sorticulture

Hi guys!

Sorry this took so long!

MAN!  I'm wiped out!!!  ♥ YAY ♥

The show was phenomenal!!!  The people were great!  The weather was amazing!  The vendors were all in great moods.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

Here's a bunch of pictures of my booth.  Some were taken the night before the show opened.  I only live 4 miles away from this park.  SO, I made 4 trips with my little truck that night and filled the truck one more time the morning the show opened.  Here's what it looked like.

I get 2 booths for a total of 10' deep and 20' wide.
Although they are very generous and let us spread out
AND .... I DO!!!

One of the first sales were the bowling pins!
See the truck bench in the back?  SOLD!

The bike sold.  All the ferris wheels sold!

See the planter in the back?  SOLD!
The strawberries in hubcaps sold.
Many of the wall flowers sold.
Most of the wind chimes sold (I even made
more on Sat. and Sun. mornings).

The doors didn't sell.  OH DARN!  HA!!!
The odd weather vanes didn't sell.
But, that's not unusual.

Both sinks sold.
Most of the metal signs sold.
Most of the large flowers sold.

Most of these sold and I was making more today!

Both head and foot boards sold.
The weather vane with the light on top is now in
my living room!  YAY!!!

The glass chandelier you see by the door sold.
The 2 green lanterns off to the left sold.
All the bird houses sold.

The large beaver pole bottle tree sold.

Every plant I brought sold.
Even the plant stand sold.

There were many other items that sold that I didn't get a picture of.

Do you remember the shelf I made out of the window?  It had coffee bags for curtains?  It sold.

Remember the 3 panels of copper that hung?  One sold.

The whiskey barrel trellis'?  One sold.

The whiskey band spheres?  All sold early Friday.

The truck tailgate bench?  Sold early Friday and I have 2 orders for more.

HUM!  What else???  EEK!  I can't remember!  There was so much!

Usually I make several trips the night before the show.  Then I have my truck loaded again the morning of the show.  Then come day 2 I bring another truck load.  Sundays,,, many times I bring things.  Not this year.  I took nearly every single piece by Friday morning.  I had things stacked on top of things.  I had things "behind" my booth.  OR!  You could say I had another booth behind my booth.

This show is kind, generous and very high in energy.  By the time Monday morning rolls around I feel like I got hit with a Mac truck.  Just wiped out.  I LOVE IT!!!

If you showed up at Sorticulture ,,, THANK YOU!  Myself and every vendor there really appreciate your support.
If you are into making garden art and you are looking for a show to try ... THIS IS IT!  Honest.

So?  What comes next you ask???

Saturday, June 15th, is the Everett Art Walk.  We Do Art is part of that.  I get to be artist of the month here.  SO!  I started by making new metal signs for this event.  Most of them are targeting the backyard fun we all like to have.  You know ,,, beer garden, beer here, wine garden.  Then Father's Day ... ♥ Dad, gone ridin', man cave, beer cave.  Next will be some wind chimes.  Most set up for Father's Day.  Then, ???  We'll just see what the weather will let me do with the welder.

I'll be there from 4pm to 7pm ... or before and after.  I just hope I'm smart enough not to start a project before I go.  OOPS!  I usually forget about watching the time.  Let me just say ahead of time ,,, SORRY!  In case I do!

I heard Roxy Beckman Gesler is going to be out front under the big tent showing us how to bend wire for garden art!!!  Could be ,,, HA!  Will be a lot of fun.  BE THERE!!!  Learn!!!

Okay!  Enough rambling!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures even half as much as I enjoyed the show and seeing every one!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!  Shell
